techFive - Top Five Tech Stories from the Week of 03.16.07
5. gPhone - It had to happen. Google wasn’t going to let Apple and Microsoft battle this one out on their own, especially when this creates a situation that a piece of hardware can solely run G-brand applications. My only concern is how long Google will have the darn thing released before they take it out of Beta mode!
4. YouTube YouSued - It wasn’t an IF so much as a WHEN for this, and finally someone has stepped up to the plate. Although it will still probably solved outside of the courts, this could cause some waves for Google’s ocean, and it probably won’t kill off YouTube, but it might make it the next Napster.
3. Tellme - Microsoft owns voice technology. With the acquisition of Tellme, for less than $1 billion and therefore less than any of the rumoured Facebook deals, Microsoft can potentially leap-frog the search competition. Mobile voice search - just typing it gives me shivers.
2. Our new server - Obviously the biggest news for us in the last week is our site FINALLY being moved over to a new, faster server. I no longer have to suffer for five minutes to login to the site and create my literary masterpieces. We should be able to become consistent with our posts again and be of some value to the community.
1. 1 Year Birthday - When we started this blog it was completely on a whim, and the big milestone, from everything we’d read, was three months of blogs. The first month was non-existant, but we picked it up from there and have managed to hit our first birthday.
